This is a new show that airs on Friday nights at 8 PM. This weeks episode is of special interest to me. The feature of the show is EVP's. Since I am a researcher and a regional coordinator for the American Association of Electronic Voice Phonomena I just hope that this program shows how EVP really are. The EVP that are going to be aired on Friday evening actually were captured by a member of our association, and the Ghost Whisperer website itself will be posting other EVP for people to listen to.
Hopefully it will educate the public a little because EVP can be such a valuable tool when used for grief counseling. I know it is especially helpful to parents who have lost children.

Please watch this program and let me know what you think. Also if you are curious about EVP I would be happy to help explain it further.

Well, I don't have to tell you I already watch this show..but yes, EVP is very interesting and helpful to parents of children who have passed on. Actually, to all family members.

Okay, with the shows I typing about people are going to think I do nothing but watch TV all the time!

I was just reading up on EVP. It came up on some of my searches because I'm interested in doing some radio broadcasting.

Do you think it's for real? I spent some time reading up and listening to some of the sound clips, but I couldn't make anything out of them.

As a researcher of EVP I have NO doubt that it is real. I was skeptical at first, until I started doing my own recordings. It took a couple of months for me to get a class A capture, but after that I was well on my way. There is no doubt left when you ask a question and it is answered, or when you actually hear your own name spoken. Have you checked out the AA-EVP website? http://aaevp.com/ it is just totally full of information for educating the public on this subject.

When it comes to hearing the EVP itself...there are different classes of clarity. Class A can be hear and understood by all. All the other classes are usually only understandable by using a good set of headphone. It actually takes some time to "train" you ear to the understanding of it. But once you learn it it becomes very easy to dicpher EVP. Its alot like riding a bike, once you learn it, you just never forget it.

I have to say that I don't think the Ghost Whisperer producers did the real EVP folks any favors with this show. The story, which could have been poignant, was made into a mini-horror flick with Mom chasing down this poor kid to his near destruction. I guess my horror at this misrepresentation of Love from the Other Side clouded my ability to appreciate any messages they were trying to convey. Also, I wish they could have not been so heavy handed with all the transmissions (between radio and TV). .

The worst part is that it might mislead some people into thinking that this fun house appraoch to EVP and ITC (which they lump together) actually works this way. This is a far cry from what EVP and ITC is all about.

Yes, I have to agree. This was like a horror. I actually like this show and I found this episode to be one that I really didn't care for. I would hope if a relative wanted to contact me they would find a nicer way to do it other than take over my ipod and scare the heck out of me!

I've never watched Ghost Whisperer but I heard this morning that it is the only successful TV show on friday nights. I did not hear the reason why.

At first I was not going to watch it as I am really not a big fan of JLH..but I do watch it faithfully Friday night and I do enjoy it. It is not as scientific as it could be but I got the notion that they were trying to be more spiritual rather than factsall on this show.....did you see Supernatural...now that can be eerie....White Noise was spooky.. I highly recommend ..I had my tapes done by a spiritual healer in a local native community and I did hear things.....but cannot talk about them right now ..they might be listening.... :spineyes:

Oh yes, thanks for reminding me. I saw the preview during Survivor last night. It looked really good.

The one not too long about about the fire in the orphanage 50 years ago was sweet.



By the way, I was VERY happy with the outcome of Survivor last night. Bob was extremely chauvanistic, selfish and egotistical. All very bad qualities. He NEEDED to go. He was talking trash on the network's morning show today as well.

I usually really get into this type of show but for some reason I think that the characters are very stymied and seem real wooden to me. I have seen the one about the little boy Kenny 3 times and each time it has been worse. My daughter loves the episode which is why we have watched it so much. Medium is much better in my op

I love this show so much. I actually thought Jennifer Love Hewitt is already a forgotten actress but there she is, in a show that I am so hooked to. The Ghost Whisperer is a new way of portraying ghosts. It is done in a way that people aren't scared and that is something I find wonderful.

I enjoyed watching this show especially with Jennifer Love Hewitt as its lead. She's really all grown up now and the kid in 7th heaven is no more. This girl had never ceased to amaze me. She really has this certain unique aura that translates to the viewers whenever she wanted them too. This series is not new to her being able to star in scream and other suspense thrillers. She is definitely doing a great job.
