I have to give Princess Diana props for working to deal with all the land mines polluting the terrain and killing innocents. These mines remain long after a war has ended and kill and maim thousands of people every year. People are still dying from mines left over from WWII.
Princess Diana was the only major celebrity of which I am aware that confronted this issue. And the issue is highly controversial - Diana got into trouble for calling for a landmine ban while visiting landmine victims in Angola because her comments were, "out of step with government policy". The UK did eventually sign the landmine treaty, along with 146 other countries. Conspicuously absent from the list of signatories is the U.S., Russia and China.
The use of landmines is cowardly and extremely irresponsible, IMO. Especially considering that we don't bother to clean them up after the war is over. Today 80% of people killed by landmines are civilians. Hats off to Diana for calling attention to this disgraceful practice.
Cheers, Franklin

I never thought of landmines as a cowardly, passive-aggressive method of warfare, but of course. There is little/no way to control the target nor the year of firing.
I would say that IF you control the area to a small, limit and can locate and remove all remaining landmines or remotely disarm them, then maybe a good method.

Hey--
Diana is an attractive woman and so are her to boys. But Charles has, lets say, another look. So, how did her two boys happen to be attractive?
Could there be another father? That would explain it.

That's an interesting question WannaKnow!
My favorite Diana quote is the one where she said her most proud accomplishment in life was breeding chins back into the royal family! :p
Also, there are pictures of son Harry and Diana boyfriend James Hewitt where the resemblence is pretty strong.

Hewitt denies paternity, but then again, he would, wouldn't he?:kermit:

I seem to remember seeing an article on Hewitt years ago before he wrote his book. There was a photo of part of a note to Hewitt from Diana after Harry's birth that said something like... He's beautiful and everyone will know he is yours just by looking at him.
I never saw a word about it again....

I say this whole issue is a cover up. There has been too much evidence pointing in that direction. Makes people wonder how the kids are really thinking about all this.

I haven't read much on the family lately except for the marriage of Charles. I know the oldest boy was getting himself into some trouble. Its a sad case. I'd hate to be wondering if my parents had been killed.

Diana supposedly wrote a letter saying "my husband" is going to kill me. First, Diana was divorced from Charles at the time she purportedly wrote the letter. Would she have called the man she publically maligned "my husband"?
In this premonition letter she claims he would arrange for her to be blown up in a helicopter or die in a car which had been tampered with. Ken Wharfe, her friend and authority on such things, says it is unlikely that she was murdered. Why? Because the car and the driver was switched at the last minute by Fayed himself. Also, Diana did not wear her seat belt which would have saved her life. Conspirators would not have control over whether or not she and Dodi buckled up in the back seat. And wouldn't a person who was worried about greased brakes be hypervigilent about buckling up?
I strongly believe that many wanted her dead. I think they got lucky when she went off with Dodi who made the big mistakes of using a driver who was mixing booze and prescription medications while driving at a high rate of speed.
Also, both her mother and her brother are satisfied that this was an unfortunate accident.

It was an unfortunate accident and so tragic. I really admired her involvement in her charity work. I do believe she rose above the problems in her marriage and was headed for greatness in her own right. Charles and Camilla were involved with each other before, during and after the marriage, and I can't blame her for whatever she did as she was stuck with a husband involved with another woman.
Charles and Camilla deserve each other. Both of them have no respect for the sanctity of marriage, not their own, not anyone elses.
