Short History of ARNO:
A message from David Meyer, founder of 1-800-Save-A-Pet.com:
I have just returned form a month in New Orleans and we need more volunteers there now to assist in finding stranded and starving animals.
YOU ARE NEEDED. Even if you?ve never done anything like this in your life, you are needed. I have teamed upwith superhero Jane Garrison, an incredible volunteer from Los Angeles (she was the first person to organize teams of volunteers to hit the streets and start rescuing pets trapped in houses) and our spokesperson, Pia Salk, and we are coordinating volunteers who go out on the streets of New Orleans to feed pets who are starving to death on the streets, and to break down doors to rescue those still trapped in homes and whose owners have asked for our help.
We?re all doing important things in our lives- many of us are even saving animals on a daily basis in our normal lives- and that?s great. But if you are able to take just 4 days, just as you would for a 4-day camping trip or to attend a family wedding, and come here to assist at the site of the worst disaster for companion animals in the history of the United States, you will experience something that you will remember for the rest of your life. There are animals dying everywhere, and the only thing preventing us from saving them is that there aren?t enough people to bring them life-saving food and water before time runs out for them. You can make the difference.
