I am not well-versed on politics. Was Ross Perot a third party? What ever happened to him? Wonder what the US would be like today if Ross was ruling!
WDYT?

Perot ran as an independent in 1992. As I recall, he hooked up with the Reform party for 2006.
As for where the U.S. would be had he been elected:
I liked his energy and his heart, but not sure about his mind. He founded EDS - I think that stands for Electronic Data Systems. I had a few professional dealings with EDS a few years back and it seemed like an extremely bureaucratic company, similar to other clerical behemoths, such Anderson, Coopers & Lybrands, etc. These companies - based on my limited experience - are top-heavy - lots of managers, few productive people. Slow to production and overpriced. In other words, very much like what many of us dislike about government bureaucracy.
He also seems to be an old-school authoritarian - my way or the highway. And the fact that he hightailed it after the alleged Republican Party sabotage - something to do with his daughter's wedding, I believe. These facts lead me to believe we would be no better off if he was elected.
But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
Cheers, Franklin

Maybe he'd of been good as Director of FEMA?
