Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday that he may run for president in 2008, despite previous assertions that he would complete his current six-year senatorial term, which ends in 2011. http://rss.cnn.com/~a/rss/cnn_topstories?i=dFCqmb</img> (http://rss.cnn.com/~a/rss/cnn_topstories?a=dFCqmb)

I have been watching this guy since he first ran for Senate, I think he will make a good president, just not in 08. I think his national security inexperience will be a deterant. I think he needs another term in the senate, gain some experience and then make a go at it.

I had this discussion with someone else this morning. My initial impression is it is a great move. He is young, and his inexperience is a bonus. We don't need another life-term insider. A youngster with a little inexperience and a fresher perspective is exactly what we need. Add that to his other assets and I would love to see him make a serious run in '08. I suspect the Democratic Party does not have the guts to back him as their primary canidate, and the Republicans will come up with someone to Trump whatever old schooler the Democrats run out there and it will be a shame.

Remember JFK was only 35 when he became President. Political experience is extremely over-rated.

you have a great point, I actually heard someone say the other day that it will be a run off between Senator John McCain (R) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)

Here is a great article on Clinton where it states, "A recent poll showed Clinton doing well against apparent Republican frontrunner Senator John McCain in a hypothetical match-up".

I have always liked McCain but his time may have past. I would not be supportive of Clillary at all. :)
