While in NOLA, I stumbled upon 2 quaint businesses located on historic Bourbon St,in the French Quarter, about 10 blocks east of Canal St...more in the residential area.
Laundry,
drop off or coin operated at 1101 Bourbon St. Has 2 owners who stayed thru Katrina. One I spolke to at length while doing laundry. He is an animal lover and has done some rescueing on his own.
Corner Store, convenience/bodago (sp?),
Has BREWED COFFEE, milk, small grocery, wine/beer at 1100 Bourbon St. Lynn, the woman manning the counter is an avid animal rescuer on her own. I gave her what pet supplies I happened to have in my vehicle the first day I met her. She would make a good interview but shy. She stayed thru Katrina too and knows the french quarter well.
