From Rhonda Walters, Shreveport, Louisiana:

There are 2 Rotties in Caddo Parish AC that were from New Orleans. The
shelter has taken in 1 truck load of dogs and getting another truck
load any day now.

The <smaller> shelters are overflowing with Katrina pets, some have
owners, but the shelter is short of help so cannot make time to locate the
owners.

The manager is begging for volunteers to come help walk the dogs, take
pictures, etc.

In hopes SOMEONE CARES ENOUGH to help these Rotts. So far, no one has
offered to help this shelter out, except the one rescue in Pennsylvania
who has taken quite a few Rotties and others from the shelter so far.
These Rotties deserve a chance to live, too, but time is running out for
them.

Annette is the kennel manager. She is doing all she can and not wanting
to put any down, but just doesn't have room for more and has more
coming, she said.

The phone number to the shelter is 318-226-6624. It is in Shreveport
La. She is overflowing and desperate to move some dogs.

The shelter does have a website. It is www.caddopets.org

I am getting so disappointed in the few good rescues we have in my
area. Can't get them off their butts to help the shelters out for nothing.
It is a crying shame. I can get pictures of all the dogs needing
moved. If someone can help get them in rescues or help locate the owners of
some I'll do what I can this way to help transport, TT or whatever is
needed to help get them moved.

If YOU can help this shelter and these dogs, please contact:
