Thousands of people have been mistakenly linked to names on terror watch lists when they crossed border, boarded planes, or were stopped for traffic violations.

I have read many articles about this. There have even been some infants and small children stopped from going on planes because their name was similar to one on this terrorist list. It is ridiculous. Beaurocracy kills common sense.

I have to agree, Melos!
This is one great reason for us to give serious pause before handing over yet another of our personal freedoms to our government or any authority.
It's a tough call when it comes to national security, however. Of course we should expect common sense measures to be taken, and that some mistakes will be made in the interest of the common good.
I guess we have to carefully weigh our responses to these types of stories, and especially do our homework to make sure we're getting the whole picture before taking any action.
