I never would have expected being where I am today...a stay at home mother of two in the suburbs...but I am exceptionally happy with where I've ended up. How about you?

Me too! I'm a stay at home mom too, even homeschooling my older one. I never thought I'd be homeschooling, but I had no choice. I am so happy, I'm right where I need to be!

Not yet, I still have some personal Goals that I want to achieve. But hopefully soon.

Not even close. I am so far away, I am in a different hemisphere. I am not sure how I got so off-target, but I am running like heck to get back.

Good thread! In some areas I'm a lot further than I ever thought I'd be,
but there are a few areas I'm still working on. :jump:

Simply put, No.
But while I'm not there yet and there are a numbe rof odds that I am currently contending with, I'm well on the way.

I am so far off the beaten path - and at the age of 50, no less!
I've survived a great deal in my life, but it gas taken it's toll.
I'm in a very bad situation just now & will have to "walk on eggshells" until, as I see it, the 2nd week of November.

I am not where I want to be. But I think for the first time in a while I am on the right path to getting there. Back in school and pursuing my intrest, changing my health and lifestyle.
I will get there! Congrats to you who are where yo want to be and best of luck to those who haven't yet got there.

I think I'm partly there and partly not. Seeing as how I am in the process of switching jobs, I would say Im on a better path now. Who knows though, where I want to be tomorrow today and where I want to be tomorrow a week from now may be two totally different things. All in all...I'm pretty happy.

I cannot say for sure that I am where I want to be. I think that no matter where I ma in my life I would always think of someplace else or something else that could make it better. With that being said, I can learn to be content with where I am knowing that the main factors I would change are unchangeble.

Where I want to be ...yes! Where I thought that I would be...no. But the things you think you want seem to change a lot too...

I'm at a point where I actually know what I want and I'm taking the steps necessary to get there. That's a great feeling.

I know I am not where I wanted to be. This was definately not in my life plan. But... I appreciate where I am right now, and I strive every day to get to a place where I can be comfortable.

I am nowhere close to wher I want to be or where I expected to be. That is how life goes. I can only worry about the future, and I think I am finally on a good path to get to where I want to be in a few years.

Nope, not yet. I am just restarting on the right path. Nowhere to go but the right way for me.

Sometimes I realize how fortunate I am and sometimes I'm still unhappy. I am a work-at-home writer and mother. I have a very good marriage. We live in the country on our own land in a 115 year old house. Yes, things are good.

I'm not sure really.
My main goal in life is to be happy. You only get one go at life afterall.
So I'm doing what makes me happy. Seems to be working so far.

I am not where I wanted to be right now but I am getting there with hardwork and persistance. I hope that I can able to get my goals accomplished in the next five years.

I have just started my work but I know where I have to reach. So I keep on telling myself that I have to achieve my goals in a very short time.It gives me inspiration and energy to work without a stop.I am always positive in my life about my carrier so I might reach there in a short while.

No, I am not where I wanted to be, career-wise, but I am where I wanted to be family-wise.
My career goals have changed (including a full career change) in the past 5-10 years, though; so maybe that's not that unusual that I haven't hit my goals yet.

Hey pinkribbon, you may not be where you want to be in a career sense, but the family thing being where you want it is great! There are many people who have a great career but never acheive what they want in a family.

You have a good point, LyricB. You have to count your blessings where they are :)

I'm not where I expected to be but along the way I've made a number of choices that made that impossible. Some were good, some were bad but I'm happy with what I have. That doesn't mean I've stopped trying to achieve. It just means goals change as life does.

Me too...I haven't really thought of being a stay at home mom but i'm happy with what I am now. I still have my goals, but slightly different goals, of course a goal for my family and not my personal goals anymore.:) No regrets...:D

Right now, I am not in the position to say that, I am still young and I feel I have not yet harnessed my full potential as a person. I am still on the process of knowing myself more and building my character but I am so glad to know that I am in line with the path I am pursuing.

Not yet. I'm too young to say that this is where I want to be in my life. I still have a lot of things to do and achieve before I can say that I have done what I need to do and that I have achieved all of my dreams and expectations. I'm working hard to get there.

LOL womanistic, I'm not young, but I share your sense of "being"!
I think the moment when we realize that we're always going to be looking forward to what we haven't done as long as we're breathing might just be the moment when we also begin to really appreciate all that we've already done and accomplished.
There's a lot to be said for working hard. Some say it's its own reward! I'll bet you already have lots and lots of achievements to be proud of and dreams that have been fulfilled! :bubbly:

I'm generally where I want to be right now. I'm a stay at home mom, which I've dreamed about since I can remember. Of course, there are still things in my life I would change in order to be more content - my weight, buy our own home, and I'd love to find a little job on the side to help me keep my sanity on those days when I need a break from being "just a mommy".

At 43, I'm returning to college full-time January 8th - on a full scholarship! Believe me - I'm nervous yet excited - and completely ready!
During orientation - I saw two ladies who are probably old than me - and the rest are younger. Still - I've had an interesting life up until now - have lived lots of places - traveled - been married (am still married) and have two daughters ages 17 and 9. It's a complete change of career, too.
So, it goes to show that as long as someone is alive and healthy - things are changing and moving forward!

to be honest, i never imagined i would be a freelancer after college; but i definitely love having control over my time. anyway, i still dream to be a business person so that i would finally have financial freedom and time freedom. yet for now, i can say i love being where i am. :wave2:
