Is this the same guy who was involved in a big controversy a few years ago for swinging his infant baby at a croc?

Oh well, even if so, it's sad to hear of an untimely death.

Yes, it is the same guy with the 1 month old baby.

It is sad, but I'm not even sure that I would describe it as untimely under the circumstances.

I hope he's family cope okay.

I was sad to hear this. I had not yet heard this news. My in-laws had visited his zoo when they were in Austrailia a few years back and really enjoyed it. I do offer prayers for his family. What a tragic ending.

Very sad to hear. People in this line of work know where the danger
is and know how to avoid it... but sometimes a freak thing happens
that there was no way to anticipate. :sad1:

I agree it is sad, but at the same time I can't help but feel angry. Can't help but feel that at his age, and having two small children he should have taken a few less chances. I realize it was in his blood, and I don't fault him for doing what he loved. I am just mad that two children have to grow up without their dad.

There seem to be a number of big debates going on about whether or not he should have been dong what he was done.

So there is just as much interest in his death as in his lide.

Thanks for the clarification!

That's a great point! This man was a daredevil who regularly tempted fate, we can't ignore that fact!

I hope he's family cope okay.

As do I!

There's something to that, LH. But I guess as long as their is an audience for this kind of entertainment, we'll always have folks who will put themselves at risk.

I can't say too much about this guy in particular, because to be honest, the only thing I really know about him is that he was swinging a newborn around the mouths of crocodiles. That's the only footage of the guy I've ever seen, so I really don't know if he was just a daredevil tempting fate or if he did valuable research or contributed something to our understanding of animals or what.

I guess I feel differently about those who take risks in the interest of science or research as opposed to those who do it for profit and sensationalism.
