Anyone notice a difference in muscular gains if protein is ingested within 30 minutes after weight training? Just want to know if it's worth it.

It doesn't have to be just after weight training. You can ingest up to an hour before or a few hours after. It is not as noticable as you would hope though. It's better to not worry about it and drink your shakes as you desire. As long as you body is getting the excess protein it will build the muscle mass.

Ah, thanks for the info. Lately, I've been skipping some of my weight training sessions because I knew I wouldn't want to eat afterward and didn't want to 'waste' a training session. I know, silly, but I'll find any excuse not to lift weights.

Danielle, here is a very good site http://xfile007.blogspot.com/2006/01/should-we-eat-after-workout.html
You may heard people telling you that you should avoid eating right after workout so that you will not gain weight. Actually, it is not really right.
We should eat after training and preferably within an hour period. This is the best period because our muscles absorb the most nutrients and when glycogen, an energy reserve in our muscles, is replaced most efficiently.

Eat within an hour after training--that's also what I've heard from the big guys in the gym. Cool blog, thanks.

Just two weeks after starting my third cycle of weight training on whey protein the results are really visible. Its scientifically proven and logical if you just think about it to give your muscles protein when they are depleted of it after working out.
