As we all watch the devastation that Hurricane Katrina has brought to our friends and neighbors, one cannot help but feel profound sorrow for the victims and their families. With a disaster of this magnitude no relief effort or aid is too small. The uShip community has already shown a great desire to do their part and uShip would like to announce the following relief initiatives:
Give Directly to the Red Cross: From the uShip homepage or the following link, you can donate directly to the Red Cross. As the relief effort will cost in the billions of dollars, donating cash, no matter how small the amount, is the absolute best way to make a difference.
No Transaction Fees for Emergency Shipping: For an indefinite period, uShip will not charge any fees whatsoever for shipments to or from Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. We encourage all our drivers to assist the residents of these states as much as possible.
Relief Effort Discussion Board: As many members of our community are attempting to organize relief efforts, uShip has created a special temporary discussion board solely for the efficient coordination of these initiatives. Please use this forum only for Hurricane Relief Effort Discussion.
Help Build the uShip Community and Help Re-build the Communities Affected by Hurricane Katrina: In addition to our corporate donation to the relief effort, uShip will donate an additional $2.00 to the Red Cross for every single member referral in the month of September. Spread the word and help us contribute as much as we are able. Click here to start donating.
Again our hearts go out to all those affected by this terrible tragedy. It is in these times that the American spirit of brotherhood and compassion is most needed and will be most evident.
