Israel rejected demands Wednesday from visiting U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan that it immediately lift its sea and air blockade of Lebanon and withdraw its forces once 5,000 international troops are deployed.

However, Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora said in Beirut that Lebanon "will be the last Arab country that could sign a peace agreement with Israel."
Could we blame Israel for not lifting the blockade and withdrawing forces in Lebanon? I think it makes sense after the above statement from the Lebanese Prime Minister. It is not the Hezbollah anymore who makes such statements, but Lebanon's leader. If that is the case, then Israel has no other option but to protect itself.
