you can contact your LOCAL red cross chapter which you can find by going to http://www.redcross.org/where/chapts.asp. You can browse the chapter list and find your closest one. I have spoken to many locations over the past two days and all are preparing to send both people and donations/supplies over to the disaster areas. Hope that helps.
