Did any one see this on A&E last night? It was awesome. During the second trial they offered him a deal to plead guilty to manslaughter, and he would serve no additional time in prison, he refused the deal and asked to go to trial, knowing that he was found guilty in the first trial.
Evan Zimmerman was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend, a crime he said he did not commit. After three terrible years in prison, Zimmerman won a chance at a new trial when an appeals court ruled that his lawyer had been ineffective. Despite being traumatized by his imprisonment and suffering a stroke while inside, Zimmerman chooses to refuse a plea deal and risk it all to clear his name. Viewers will see the tense re-trial unfold -- the defense team's strategizing, the 11th-hour moves, and the dramatic conclusion.
