Last weekend where we live we had our yearly start of summer festival, well during this festival they have a Miss Bikini Wahine contest. Well with hubby being so well know in town because of his job, he was asked to be a judge.
Actually what happened was we were on the way to the dentist and he got a call on his cell, well I heard hubby say ask my wife she's right here with me, so I get on the phone and this guy asks if I would mind hubby being a judge for the bikini contest and if he was would he be allowed back home, I said only two words. HELL NO
But the way I reasoned it with my husband was, Honey you are a few months short of 60, and in no way could I allow you to take on such a burden as to try and pick which one out of the twelve scantly clad, big busted, beautiful girls you would pick. Now ladies what kind of a wife would I have been if agreed to have that burden put on him?
His reasoning, I am almost 60 so who would interested in me, I said you would be suprised, that seemed to boast his ego.:D
Truth was I was never worried about who might be interested in him  It was who he might be interested in. He would be one to keep the contest going longer then it should be.
Oh Umm can I see one more back shot, ok how about another side shot, CAN WE HAVE A CLOSEUP??
Would you let your man judge a Bikini Contest, or am I just the jealous type?

OMG! I really have to answer this one honestly huh? I would love to say yes I would and it wouldn't bother me in the least. Problem is I couldn't do it. I would tell him judge the contest if you really want to because I think one shouldn't be told what they can and cannot do. BUT, it would bother the hell out of me. And I would make my feelings clear to him how I feel about it. I would hope he would bow out just out of respect for me.
If he did accept the position I have to honestly say I would probably drive him nuts before the contest and he would probably just not do it. I know its awful but you asked for the truth.

I kind of got the impression that he didn't care one way or the other, since he let me make the decision. But I agree if he really wanted to do it, I would have said go for it, but be prepared, he may never know what to expect on his dinner plate.
But Debby, let me tell you how he has turned this whole thing around, Every time in the last week that we have ran into friends, Hubby says let me tell you what my wife did to me, she said I couldn't judge the bikini contest because she thought one of those girls might be interested in hooking up with an old man, then he goes on to say how you can't judge if you can't actually feel what your judging. Yep he is having a ball with this. And now you know why I said NO!!

Alright, it didn't take me too long.
My answer to the dilemma is this. I would be happy to encourage Frankie to serve as a judge for a bikini contest.
IF...............................................
He agreed to compete in a Speedo competion himself......with fellow competitors all under the age of 25..........in front of all MY friends first!!
All Livewire Ladies are invited!!! :pals:
THE COMPETITION!!! Have fun, Frankie!!!

This is a really great object lesson, LH!
While scraping off Frankie's dirty dinner dishes, I was pondering this issue.
Here are Nico Moon's rules for Bikini Contests:
All Contestants must sign an irrevocable agreement to allow their own husbands to judge bikini contests once said contestant has completed menopause.
All bikini contest judges must sign agreements to allow their own 19 year old daughters to parade mostly naked in front of a panel of over 50 year old male judges.
All bikini contest judges must attend the competition wearing only a thong of their wives/girlfriends/significant other's choosing.
All wives and daughters of bikini contest judges have free license to post photos of their mostly naked husbands/fathers in the Livewire.FM free photo galleries!
Any additions, ladies???

OK, I'm just sitting here minding my own business and y'all get me in trouble :)
My first response to the question of whether I would judge a bikini contest was that I would only if I were single - otherwise, I know I would get into trouble. Really I never thought about judging or even attending such a contest.
Anyway, Nico and I discussed it, and I agree that the whole concept is disrespectful and demeaning. (I did think this was tongue-in-cheek, though). And women are doing a bit of ogling themselves these days, including older women ogling younger men (such as Chippendales), though still not nearly to the extent that men do.
But, to quote Bill O'Reilly, "Bad behavior is not excused by pointing to other bad behavior".

Poor Frankie, he really got raked over the coals on this one! The truth is that I can't imagine him judging a bikini contest, and he could almost get away with wearing a Speedo in public. :D
On to Bill O'Reilly.......we have a thread about him because he's too huge to ignore. Love him or hate him, he's rapidly gaining influence in this country, so he's a noteworthy topic, IMO.
Would you like to share your thoughts about him in the relevant thread? I'm interested to hear what you have to say.
And I do hope you'll let us know who wins the bikini contest!! I think that if your husband does serve as a judge, we already know who the loser will be!!

It almost sounded from your original post like he may have wanted the no answer and just didn't want to be the one to say it. My hubby does that. As soon as he asks me if it's okay with me, that's my cue.
But I would not have cared one way or the other. My hubby can go judge a bikini contest. He can even bring one of the contestants home with him. They'd make great decorations for the mantle. Teehee!
