Last night the kids wanted hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill, so hubby gets the grill ready and brings the food out to the front porch, he puts the hamburgers on the grill but leaves the hotdogs on a plate on the porch, he comes inside for about 3 minutes and when he gets back out he yells to me "did you take the hotdogs back inside"? I go out and sure as heck no hotdogs.

So I'm thinking great we have a hotdog thief prowling around. I start thinking, are the hotdogs I still have in the fridge safe?, should I hide them or buy a lock for the fridge. Who would steal 4 Nathan hotdogs?. uncooked for that matter, and then I got thinking even more, who eats hotdogs without mustard and relish? what kind of a hotdog thief is this?

Well it didn't take long to find the culprit, I walked to the side of the house and there was this stray cat that I have seen around the house chomping down on MY hotdogs. What was I to do? About an hour later she was zonked out under my car, probably dreaming about what was for dessert.

That is too funny LH!! Could have been worse though...could have been a raccoon or something! And I can picture the cat snoozing after that meal. Four hot dogs is a lot for one kitty.

Hi LH!
You tell a great story! Thanks for the belly laughs!
Now I have one too. We have a little kitty, one of those dream cats that never grows to full size, so she's like our permanent kitten and we spoil her to death. Actually, we spoil all our kitties but that's another story.
Little Eva likes to go outside on hunting expeditions, and if we don't watch her like a hawk, we suddenly have snakes, lizards, birds, moles, voles, eviscerated rabbits and squirrels, bugs, you name it. I once walked into my living room only to see a snake curled cozily on the arm of our couch. Did I ever tell you how much I HATE and LOATHE snakes? Don't get me started!
The other night, I'd left the window open so the kitties could merrily jump in and out, which is their favorite passtime. I was watching carefully to make sure they brought in no new buddies, toys, or snacks, but I got distracted for the shortest amount of time, and the next thing I know, Little Eva is mewing at my feet.....I look down, and there is a HUGE UGLY BUG ON MY LEG!!! My leg was under a table, so I couldn't see fast enough, but my first thought was TARANTULA! It was that big, and moving and squiggling all around, stuck to me like glue!! :shin:
I'm amazed that the cops didn't come, because I don't think I ever screamed so loud or for so long. Poor Frankie probably lost half his hair! I don't know how we got rid of the damned thing from my leg, but we finally saw that it was some kind of a huge roach looking creature with enormous wings, almost like a butterfly. I've never seen anything like it.:disbelief
Frankie finally trapped it under a glass, after it tried to hide in his shoe, and ultimately got it back outside. God help me, I can't believe I lived through that ordeal. I'm just not big on having huge squiggly dark things flapping all over my calves!!! Call me silly!
Anyway, thanks Little Eva, but next time keep your gifts to yourself, and keep them outside!!
Oh, and I just now realized why I haven't been able to convince Debby to come for a visit!! DUH!!! Smart move, Deb!! :woohoo:

How funny! We had a dog at one time that was so bad about trying to get into things that I caught her with her nose up against the outside barbque grill trying to figure out a way to steal the hamburgers off it! She would reach up on her hind legs then get close and it would be too warm then she would whine and go away then approach from another direction. It was a hoot watching her! I could never ever leave the food out there anywhere near the grill either. She would find a way to get it!
