Donations from abroad for the Katrina victims have been lost. The Government Accountability Office is attributing errors to the lack of experience in the US receiving large amounts of donations from others! This whole ordeal is being blamed on omissions, missteps and bureaucratic nightmares.
My question is..how did all this money and donations just disappear? What about the victims that really could have used this and could still? And finally, who will be held accountable for all of this? If we are given extra in our taxes on accident and we spend it aren't we held accountable to repay it? WDYT?

Can you imagine having a job that involves handling donations for victims of a tragedy and not being responsible about it? It sounds as though their are a bunch of thieves at work here.
I do sometimes despair of the future of our society, given how common it is for people to have no sense of ethics or decency. Everyone has an excuse for themselves, the big one being "everyone else is doing it".
Money doesn't just "disappear". There's some kind of a cover-up going on here it sounds like.
Maybe we should put the Bloods and the Crips in charge. At least they admit to having contempt for law and society.

As ridiculous as that sounds things may run better. They are held responsible within their own society so to speak. And you can bet if the money is being sent to them to help their "gang" it wouldn't be lost!

Puts the phrase "honor among thieves" into perspective doesn't it?

That is unreal, isn't it? Should somebody competent be in charge here? Did we learn nothing from all the 911 funding gone?
