This year in Louisiana the crowds are smaller but they are also reporting the people are nicer saying they can feel the love. Many business owners are saying business is cut down by about half but they are taking it in stride.

I was interested to see if The Carnival would still take place this year. After the Let's Roll Project and working with so many people from there it now holds a special place in my heart.

I know, Debby! I feel like we should have been there! I'd especially like to have been there broadcasting!
I've always wanted to attend Mardi Gras, but this year seemed like the one to catch.
Oh well, we missed it, but maybe we should start planning for next year. My thought has always been to find one of those gorgeous old mansions in the Garden District to rent with a group of friends for the week and party down!
I'm up for starting to plan for next year, how about you? I'll share the cooking duties, and how much do you want to bet that between us we could rival the legendary chefs of New Orleans? Move over Emeril!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
If we get up a group, we can put up a free trip as one of our prizes!
We've organized wild parties with people we've hung out with on other message boards in the past, and they were stunning successes. I love the adventure and the excitement of getting together face to face with internet friends.
WDYT??? :pals:

Have they decided if they are going to go ahead with the rebuild? They were saying they are going to hold off any redevelopments until they decide if they are going to do something about the levys or to relocate parts of the city elsewhere.

I haven't heard anything recently but I will research because now I am wondering. I just hope it isn't too commercialized like I had heard in the past. It's such a beautiful area with a lot of history.
