PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island (AP) -- The former tour manager for the heavy metal rock group Great White pleaded guilty to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter Tuesday for setting off the pyrotechnics that caused one of the deadliest nightclub fires in U.S. history.

This was a horrific fire with some video images that I know I will never get out of my head. I cannot imagine being inside the building at the time.

I haven't had read the article on the trial of the band manager, but I have a feeling I'll have mixed feelings over it. I still think that the low thousand dollar pricetag for a sprinkler system that the club owners didn't install should be negligence as well.

Now, off to read the article.

OK, short article. Hopefully there will be more info on this trial, but the following was the final paragraph in this article:

The brothers who owned the nightclub, Jeffrey and Michael Derderian, were also indicted in 2003 on charges of involuntary manslaughter. They were accused of installing the foam and have pleaded not guilty.

Thanks for the update IA. As listed I am from where this happened and we have lost friends in this fire. I/we still have friends recovering from this tragic event.

I thought so Debby. Just noticed it on the CNN home page and figured you'd be interested. And {{{hugs}}} for your friends.

It was awful, I remember that. I grew up watching live bands in just such places, so it kind of hit home for me as well.
