I have a spare room for a single mom with one child or a single female, I don't care what age. I don't have much, but I am willing to house them and feed them until they can get themselves some assistance here locally in Charlotte NC. Incidentally the Charlotte Coliseum is being opened up as a shelter by the Red Cross today, so a lot of folks will be coming into our town.
My home is a single family home in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to shopping, public transportation, schools, daycare centers and the Y. The room has a TV with satellite TV and there is a spare computer with high speed Internet access (for contacting family members etc.). Of course I have working A/C and laundry facilities available as well.
I'm a single mom myself and have been displaced before due my house burning down - so I can relate to losing everything and having young children at the time.
