Ha, a barrister from Nigeria! I got one of those emails from Yassar Arafat's widow! Seems she couldn't get at the riches that he left in a bank in Paris. I figured it was a hoax 'cause he couldn't have have a fortune, given that he was a humble, selfless servant of his people and all.

I've got at least six different ones in the last four days - must be a new open season on chumps or something. But with all these millionaire's widows running around offering to pay people to help them get their money, it's no wonder that the folks in Africa are starving. All their money is being held hostage in Swiss banks waiting to be liberated by people like us who are so skeptical.

As hard as it might be to believe, it appears that this Nigerian scam is a part of the mystery behind the Mary Winkler murder.
For those who might not know, Mary Winkler is the quiet little minister's wife who shot her husband in the back and then fled with her young children. I suspect that a Nigerian money scam is likely to be the last thing anyone suspected.
Life is bizarre sometimes, and greed can evidently be a powerful drug.
More on this case in the relevant thread.

What a weird way to scam people. Don't they have jobs? Those pesky scammers are just getting on my nerves! I got a letter back years ago saying that I have won a million dollars! Who are they kidding? I also know a scam when I see one. I guess these people just have nothing to do in their life.

I can't believe that people actually send this stuff. I have gotten a few letters myself but just delete them. The real sad thing is that some people actually believe it is true and think that they will get money.

I have received the same email. Do be extra careful with those things. always remember, don't give out your bank account number or any other information even if they say they need the number to transfer the money to your account. It is very dangerous. They might get money from your account.
