After looking through some of the discussions on movies, I'm wondering how often people go to the theater to see a movie.

I personally hate the theater. It's too loud and the last time we went I nearly got motion sick from all of the stuff going on on screen. I think in the 5 years or so I've been with my husband we haven't seen but maybe 4-5 movies in the theater. I just have a hard time making myself go.

I'm not even a big fan of watching movies at home. I get distracted or bored and find something else to do. Hubby gets so irritated when halfway through I leave the room.

Haha well I rarely go to the theatres to see a movie actually. I usually end up renting it once it comes out or buying it if I'm really interested in it.

I don't go a whole lot anymore. I do enjoy going to the theatre to see a movie though. I just cannot justify spending that amount of money to go though. The only time we go anymore is when I take my two boys to see a movie and then we see a matinee because it is cheaper. I also sneak in my snacks.

maybe the cost is part of my reasoning too. I just can't justify spending $8 or so a person to sit in a room with 50 other people and nearly go deaf from the noise because the volume is so loud.

There's a smaller theater in a neighboring town that has a smaller screen, the movies are a little older (but still new releases), it's not as loud, the crowds aren't as big, and it's $1 ($2 for the evening show, I think)....and that's not quite as bad. If I could make myself sit still long enough to watch something, I think I'd choose there - for obvious reasons.

I dont go to the movies very often. If we do go to the movies it is the $1 movies and it is mainly kids movies. The prie of movies is outrageous. A matnee is $5.00 and after 6 pm it is almost $10 a movie. If we don't get to see the movies at the $1 theater then we wait til it is on DVD and rent it.

When my husband and I were first together, we went probably once every month or so. But, now that he is gone, I never get to go. My mom took me to Santa Clause 3 (which sucked by the way) last week and last February, she took me to Eight Below (which is really good).

I rarely go anymore. Too expensive from the price of the admision to the popcorn on the concession stand. Then theres the drive the parking the angle i have to sit in if i dont get a good seat...i prefer the investment in a home theater that eliminates all that. Plus if i gotta go to the bathroom i can pause it. Yes i dont have theater release movies but that will change i believe. Already is there talk of releasing the movie on dvd at the same time.

I'm lucky if I get to go to the theater once a year. I don't get to go very often. I do like to though. i do watch a lot of movies at home. That's the one thing that I can usually get my hubby to sit still for. LOL

I love watching movies! I often rent DVDs and watch it with my family or friends. I buy lots of DVDs too. I buy one DVD per week. You see, I'm a VCD and DVD collector.

I go to the theater at least once a month. My friends usually force me to go with them. Hee-hee.
